Distribution:
Found in meadows, woodlands, and at higher altitudes throughout the Northern Hemisphere, known for the spurred petals of their flowers.

Toxic Principle:
cardiogenic toxins – All parts are toxic, Seeds and Bulbs are the most toxic.

Poisoning Symptoms include:
Severe gastroenteritis and heart palpitations. Columbine poisonings may be fatal.
