Most Morning Glories have spectacular colorful flowers and are often grown as prized ornamentals. There have been multiple cultivars developed. Their deep flowers attract large moths, such as the pink-spotted hawk moth and even hummingbirds.

Distribution:
Ipomea genus can be found throughout occurs throughout the worlds, tropical and subtropical regions. It is  comprised of a variety of annual and perennial herbaceous plants, lianas, shrubs and small trees; with most of the species being twining climbing plants.

Conditions of Poisoning:
Ingestion

Toxic Principle:
Indole alkaloids (Lysergic acid, lysergamide, elymoclavine and chanoclavine)

Clinical Symptoms:
Reactions to ingestion of this plant can include Gastrointestinal upset, agitation, tremors, disorientation, ataxia, anorexia. Seeds may cause hallucination, may cause diarrhea.
